Salary Sacrifice Super Calculator
Salary sacrificing routes some of your pre-tax salary directly into super instead of paying it as cash and being taxed at your marginal rate. AgoTax shows the tax-saving effect: enter an annual sacrifice amount in Advanced, and your taxable income drops by that amount while your total super rises. If your employer SG plus your sacrifice exceeds the $30,000 concessional cap, the excess is added back to your taxable income at marginal rate. Useful for high earners — the bigger your marginal bracket, the bigger the tax win from sacrificing.

Frequently asked
How much should I sacrifice?
It depends on your goals and cap headroom. A common rule: top up to the $30,000 concessional cap if you're in the 37% or 45% bracket, since you save the difference between your marginal rate and the 15% super contributions tax.
Will my employer let me?
By law any employee can request salary sacrifice; in practice most employers oblige. Some put limits (e.g. only sacrifice in whole-percent steps).
Does sacrificed super reduce my SG?
Not since the 2020 reforms. Your employer must pay SG on your full pre-sacrifice base.
